Portugal Real Estate Awards 2025 highlights the best projects in the sector
The Portuguese Real Estate Awards 2025 organized by Magazine Imobiliário distinguished 13 projects in different categories – Commerce, Tourism, Residential, Refurbishment and Sustainability – at a gala dinner on Thursday evening held at the Hotel Vila Galé Sintra.
The event brought together developers, architects, construction firms and representatives of the various public and private associations and entities linked to the sector.
The annual event, already recognised as one of the high points of the real estate calendar in Portugal, distinguished the 13 projects that stood out for their quality, innovation, sustainability and positive impact on the urban and social landscape in Portugal.
The prize of the night went to The Lince Santa Clara Historic Hotel, distinguished not only in the Tourism category, but also bagged the Best Development of the Year, recognizing its heritage value, the quality of the renovation, and its contribution to the town of Vila do Conde.
The project from Slicedays Hotelaria was restored by the architects Carvalho Araújo with the building works done by Pentapiso.
From among the night’s other winners were flagship projects like Quarteirão do Rossio from JCKL Portugal designed by architects Contacto Atlântico and built by Alves Ribeiro and HCI, which won in the Commerce category.
The Offices award went to Oriente Green Campus from developers Multiusos Oriente – Fundo Especial de Investimento Imobiliário Fechado (A closed investment fund), with a project from Saraiva + Associados and Kohn Pedersen Fox with building by Mota-Engil.
In the Residential category, the award went to Villa Infante, from Avenue, with a project from Frederico Valsassina Arquitectos and construction by San José.
O Bonjardim, also developed by Avenue, won in the category Housing North, designed by architects Promontório and built by Mota-Engil.
In the category Housing Centre the award went to Turquesa Dafundo, developed by VIZTA, designed by Promontório and built by UDRA.
The Housing South award went Horizon Ocean Gardens from Cetim / Krest, with a project from Saraiva + Associados and built by Omatapalo.
The Autonomous Regions Award was bagged by Savoy Residence | Monumentalis, developed by AFA Real Estate, with architecture from RH + Arquitectos and built by AFAVIAS.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Modern Arts Centre with a project from Japanese architects Kengo Kuma and building by HCI, won in the category of Collective Developments.
The Interior Design project was netted by Torel Quinta da Vacaria, from Quinta da Vacaria 1616, with a project from Luís Miguel Oliveira and built by Costa & Carreira.
In the area of renovation the award went to the Aristides de Sousa Mendes Museum, developed by the Aristides de Sousa Mendes Foundation with architecture from Rosmaninho + Azevedo and built by EDIBEST.
The Excellence in Efficiency and Sustainability award was taken for the Sandwoods Project from developers Avenue, designed by Bernardes Arquitectura and built by HCI, showing the growing importance of energy efficiency and sustainability in the real estate sector.
The 2025 edition of the Portuguese Real Estate Awards enjoyed the support of several entities that contributed to the prestige and value of the initiative.
The oficial sponsors was the insurer VICTORIA seguros and bank Santander. The other sponsors were Savills, ERA imobiliária, GROHE, AEG, JUNG, LG and APAL.
The awards also enjoyed the institutional support of ADENE, APPII, APEMIP, AICCOPN, ASMIP and AHP as well as the official website CASA YES, Tecnovisão audiovisuals and press and publicity from the agency Green Media.
The President of the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors (APPII), Hugo Santos Ferreira, was distinguished with the Recognition Award for his 10 years of hard work at the association defending Portugal’s real estate sector.
