TEDx Porto 2025 to debate the ethics of AI
Philosopher and professor Carissa Véliz, engineer Nithya Menon and anthropologist Raquel Machaqueiro are the most recent confirmations for TEDxPorto, on March 29 at Alfândega do Porto.
To talk about this year’s theme, ‘The Big Question’, the newly announced speakers will join a panel of prominent figures, such as Luís Osório, communicator and writer; Manuel Heitor, former minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education; Maria João Baptista, cardiologist and president of the Local Health Unit of São João; Nadim Habib, professor at NOVA SBE; and Mariana Abranches Pinto, president of the Compassio Association.
With 13 editions held, TEDxPorto has consolidated itself as a reference event, being considered one of the largest forums for sharing ideas in Portugal. It also stands out as one of the largest TEDx events in the world, among more than 3,500 events per year, spread across cities around the world. Over the past ten years, 284 speakers and 33 performances have contributed to the success of the event, reaching a total audience of over 16,800 people. For the 2025 edition, it will count on the support of dozens of brands and entities.
